Minnesota State Band Conductor
Charles Boody
Charles Boody comes to the Minnesota State Band to continue his long and successful career in music. Mr. Boody graduated cum laude from Macalester College in St. Paul and has both a Masters and PhD in music from the University of Minnesota. His professional experiences include Director of the Seward Community Band from 1987-2007; Member of the Riverside Brass Quintet, 1993-2001; and Director of the Prospect Park United Methodist Church Choir and Brass Ensemble from 1986-1990. Mr. Boody has worked as a music teacher in the Minnesota Public Schools as well as Assistant Professor of Music at Austin College in Texas. Mr. Boody also worked for 22 years as Systems Analyst and Programmer for the Hopkins Public Schools. His professional associations include the Music Educators National Conference, the American Choral Directors Association (Life member) and the Association for Technology in Music Instruction (past president).
